79. Go see the Military Tattoo

I'd accidentally left it to the last minute to get our Edinburgh Military Tattoo tickets. With a month to go, I managed to get two of the last six remaining seats. Only single seats were available. Unfortunately that meant getting "restricted viewing" seats BUT also front row seats to one of the largest Military Tattoos in the world (albeit with a safety barrier in place). Excellent opportunity to take photos!

The Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual event that takes place in August. Roughly 217,000 people see the Tattoo live each year with 30% of the audience from Scotland, 35% from the rest of the UK and the remaining 35% from overseas! A further 100 million people watch it on TV worldwide! Wow!

International military regiments and even African tribes have performed at the Tattoo over the years. In addition to the sound of the bagpipes from the Scottish regiments, this year we also saw dancers from Australia, performers from China, bands from South Africa and Tonga as well as a fantastic drum performance from the Swiss Army Top Secret Drum Corps, just to name a few.
